Along with the youth drama series, this week’s Emmerdale also brought viewers to tears with the story of Brenda Walker – the woman once known as “the heart of the Dales”.

After many years of a turbulent marriage, Brenda finally thought she could find peace with her beloved husband, Bob Hope.

However, on a seemingly normal morning, while Brenda was preparing breakfast, Bob suddenly collapsed in the middle of the kitchen.

The sound of broken glasses and the screams of “Bob! Honey!” echoed across the screen.

Viewers witnessed Brenda trembling as she called for an ambulance, tears streaming down her face as she tried to give her husband CPR. While waiting for the ambulance, she whispered: “You promised to watch the sunset with me one more time…”

The episode aired early on ITVX caused a social media explosion. Many fans shared that they “couldn’t hold back their tears” when they saw Brenda’s panicked eyes. In the hospital, the doctor said Bob might not make it through the night.

Brenda sat next to him, held his hand, and whispered: “If you go, I will follow.”

This episode was considered one of the most emotional moments of Emmerdale this year, opening a new series of tragedies for the village’s elderly characters.
