Meanwhile, Mackenzie is still stuck in the dark with the lethal syringe in his hand. He trembles, not knowing whether to continue waiting in vain or end it all himself. The image of Mack staring at the syringe is a symbol of ultimate despair, leaving the audience in a state of suffocation.
