In Emmerdale, Kev Townsend has always been a man of instinct, hot-tempered, explosive tempers – but he has never been in such a fragile state.

The upcoming episodes reveal that Kev’s fate is all but sealed, and the scariest thing is: two village veterans are secretly paving the way for his downfall.

The story begins when Kev is drawn into a series of reckless actions. He confronts Robert, confronts Aaron, and threatens to expose some of the secrets he believes they’re hiding. But what Kev doesn’t know is that Aaron and Robert have secretly sensed the danger – and they’re not about to let Kev drag them down. They meet behind closed doors, discussing how to “take Kev out of the circle of power” before things get out of hand.

In a particularly tense scene, Aaron looks Robert straight in the eye and says, “If we don’t do it now, we’ll pay.” It’s a decisive moment: Kev must disappear from their big story.

Kev doesn’t see it. He thinks he’s winning, he’s exposing something. But every word he says is twisted, every action he takes is made to his disadvantage. The other two legends – with their experience and coldness – have calculated every move.

Kev’s tragedy is that he’s using emotion to fight those who use strategy. And in Emmerdale, strategy never loses to emotion.
