If Christmas in Emmerdale is cold, then New Year’s Eve is even colder.

The teaser images show Kim riding a horse in a seemingly peaceful setting after days of low spirits due to an accident and family drama.

But just moments later, the horse returns to Home Farm… without Kim. The scene cuts to the futuristic house: a broken Christmas tree, a messy interior, and traces of what looks like a fierce struggle. No one said exactly what happened, only that someone wouldn’t survive the night.

Immediately, the fan community began speculating about the victim. The most obvious possibility was Kim. After a lonely Christmas, after a near-fatal accident, Kim’s “death” in a special New Year’s Eve episode would be a devastating blow. For months, the writers had focused everything on her: conflict with the Dingle family, distance from Will, a feeling of detachment from the world, moments as if she were reflecting on her entire life.
