Emmerdale Spoiler: Ruby “slips up” to save a stranger – then finds herself caught up in a human trafficking ring

One of the most tense developments next week in Emmerdale is Ruby Milligan’s “good deed met with misfortune”.

While on the way to check her husband Caleb Milligan’s truck, she suddenly discovers a strange woman hiding in the trunk.

This person is skinny, panicked, and can only speak a few words of English.

Instead of calling the police, Ruby – who is soft-hearted – decides to take the girl home to take care of, temporarily naming her Anya.

She feeds her, bathes her, and even asks her husband for permission to stay for a few days. But when Caleb hears about it, he is so angry that he smashes his wine glass: “Do you know you just broke the law? She could be a trafficker, or worse — a spy!”

From then on, the atmosphere in the Milligan house becomes as tense as a string. Ruby still tries to believe that she is helping people, but strange details about Anya begin to appear: old bruises on her hand, a strange tattoo, and especially the look of fear when hearing the sound of a police car passing by.

At the end of the episode, a twist occurs: Anya disappears into the night, leaving behind a necklace engraved with the letters “K.M.” – matching the name of Caleb’s transportation company. In the final scene, Ruby looks into the empty space in the living room, her head echoing only the words of her husband: “There are people who don’t need saving.”
The audience is buzzing: has Ruby been hiding a criminal, or has she accidentally touched on the terrible secret of her own family?
