After a series of suspicions surrounding Nate’s death, Emmerdale is in turmoil again when Tracy is summoned by the police for questioning.

At first, she cleverly denies all accusations, tearfully telling that she is “just a victim”, but the audience is keen to realize: something is not right.

Cain Dingle’s face – the father who lost his child – suddenly stiffens, his eyes are cold as a knife.

He does not believe in the weakness that Tracy shows, because deep inside Cain has a feeling that she is lying.

Tracy, in an effort to hide her guilt, submits a fake evidence – a sophisticatedly edited bank statement – to create an alibi.

However, Cain is not so easy to fool. He began stalking Tracy, and one rainy night, Cain broke into her apartment, opened the safe, and found something that made his blood run cold: a small memory card containing a faint recording of a woman whispering, “I followed the plan. No one will find him.”

From that moment, Cain knew that Nate’s death was no accident. Someone—maybe Tracy, or the person she was protecting—had orchestrated it all. When Cain brought the evidence to Sam to compare, they discovered the memory card had been used in a security camera at the auto repair shop where Nate had last disappeared. It all fit together like a nightmare.

In a dramatic imagined scene, Cain confronted Tracy in the Dingle living room. He held up his phone and played the recording. Tracy, trembling, tried to deny it:

“You’ve got it all wrong, Cain! I just…”
Cain interrupted, his voice thunderous:
“Just following the plan to kill my son?”
